This will give you an idea of what I present in my book Stroke of Courage: Finding Strength in What is Given to You.
What feelings or memories does this flower stir within you? When I looked at this flower, it reminded me of the last 13 months since I suffered my stroke. The black rocks symbolize the incredibly low points I’ve faced—moments of mental, physical, and spiritual anguish. The brown represents the valley I’m currently navigating, filled with challenges and uncertainty.
The larger green leaves stand for the accomplishments I’ve made along the way, a testament to my resilience. Meanwhile, the smaller green leaves, barely visible, represent those achievements that are slowly but surely making their way to me. Each leaf is a reminder that even amid struggle, growth is possible.
